The Acer AZ5700-U2112 had an unwieldy moniker, but the large screen all-in-one PC is a heaping bowl of speed and media functionality for quite palatable price: just under $ 1,099.

Within this 23-inch All-in-one PC 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5-650 processor, 4 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard drive (a fairly large capacity for the category). It earned 119 on our WorldBench 6 test suite, landing near the top of the All-in-one food chain.

As is generally the case with all-in-one, the primary draw of the AZ5700-U2112 is its 23-inch multi-touch-enabled screen. It supports native Windows 7 touch gestures, and Acer’s own Touch Portal software (more on that in a bit). The display offers a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Video playback is smooth and clear, despite the system, the dependence of integrated graphics. The image quality is also impressive, with excellent color reproduction.

The system has six USB ports: two on the left side and four on the back. The built-in speaker in the situation, and quite loud without much in the way of detail, but you will still be able to connect a proper stereo system, if you want, thanks to the 5.1-channel audio outputs. You’ll also find an HDMI port and an eSATA port, the latter of which should allay storage buffs who complain otherwise the lack of FireWire. As for the optical drive is a DVD burner in the machine, a Blu-ray player would have been nice, but you can not expect too much luxury, if you are looking to have to save a few dollars. The built-in webcam software that you add silly animations and the like down to allow includes your video chats. The quality is not great – it is appropriate for YouTube, but not much else. The webcam also comes with a video monitoring mode, a strange addition that tracks movement in front of the PC and secretly snapped a picture. It will probably be more useful than to tinker tricks as an appropriate security tool, but the option is nice.

Acer’s called touch portal software completes the AZ5700-U2112 offer. As the TouchSmart software on the HP TouchSmart 600 Quad, provides this collection of widgets for quick access to popular Web destinations, your music and videos on your PC. A touch-optimized browser offers large, bright buttons to make surfing with the fingers a little easier. Touch-portal also automates hardware and software updates, which help the machine is in order, should without too much effort. All in all, the software feels snappy and responsive and makes finger-based operation is a breeze.

A wireless keyboard and mouse included. We would like to see in general wireless peripherals to All-in-one PCs, and the sentence that Acer manages to include to make the most correct notes. Dedicated shortcut keys on the keyboard allow for quick access and control for music and movies. A volume control is also present, but it scraped noisily against the keyboard frame and generally feels a bit out of place has a pair of volume buttons would have worked just fine. There is not much to say about the included mouse – it is wireless, and it is comfortable enough, but it lacks any extra buttons or features.

They found much to like, but the Acer AZ5700-U2112 strongest asset is its price. It is a great PC for work and play, and you will not spend too much money. You get a lot of value in a very attractive setting. The machine is versatile, working well with enough power to get done quickly, while glossy as a media hub.
